Margarita Canio Llanquinao, She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Catholic University of Temuco. She study Bachelor in Education and Intercultural Basic Pedagogy in that same house of studies. His Master did it in American Studies at the University of Seville. In 2013 she published and edit the book "Mapuche history and oral knowledge. Survivors of the" Campaign of the desert"and "Occupation of the Araucania (1899-1926), of which a second edition is prepared. Its main area of work is the teaching or dissemination of the Mapuche language in university, school and social contexts.
She is a native speaker, her parents learns and speaked always mapudungun, in the school the teachers said she spoke badly and grow up knowing about the respect for own culture and what it´s means recism.
Today is a recognized intelectual mapuche, she revitalize the culture and the language in all her works, and collect information and documentation apreciated for the mapuche history.
I choose her beacause is my pricinpal refenrence for my own studies of the culture mapuche.
